It would appear to be a no brainer, but too many food manufacturers, retailers, fast food giants and even our own government doesn’t want people to find a cure. It would be understandable if diet firms didn’t want you to know the secret, but many of them already know the secret, even are willing to share the secret, but most people don’t want to believe.
The secret that is turning our children into victims of early onset diabetes is sugar. It is in everything! My husband and I admired a huge weight loss a friend made and he’d revealed he’d stop eating sugar. He followed a very restrictive diet because sugar was in everything. We wanted the same loss, but not the same restrictive diet.
This involved reading labels on everything we put in our mouth. Often manufacturers will use different words to describe sugar such as cane juice and Florida Crystals. They’re aware that some people are looking. Sugar is relatively cheap and acts like an addictive drug making us crave more of a sugar-added food. It also turns to fat. I realize my desire to eat sugar free would not be easy.
Two months into it and we’ve done fairly well by eating fresh fruits, vegetables and meats. My husband has lost 30 pounds, while I lost closer to twenty. We have less joint pain, headaches, and allergy symptoms. Part of it could be from just taking the weight off.
We’ve actually found a few restaurants we can eat out at and stay true to our pledge. If I had any desire to fall off the wagon, watching Fed Up would cure me of it. If a person goes for two weeks without sugar, the desire fades away. It may take longer for other people. There are natural sugars in fruits, even sweet peppers and sugar beets that are acceptable.
