About the Author
Halo has been a practising Faery Witch since she was a child, taught by the fae from birth and trained in human magic since her teens. She is a devotee of the Faery Queen, a storyteller, a philosopher, artist and the Ringleader of The Goblin Circus, where Faery magic manifests in art and wonder-tales.
For too long, Faeries have been the trickster beings in our society when acknowledged at all. They are often blamed for disobedient children in the aspect that the agreeable babe had been switched out for a changeling. Missing car keys to tripping our own feet is often laid at the faeries’ door. People are warned not to contact the faeries or bad things will happen to them. With all this fear and misinformation, it’s a hardship for anyone who has a fey legacy or even a desire to communicate with the faeries. Even my witch friends warned me to not mess with the faeries.
Moon Books introduces via their Pagan Portals series Your Faery Magic by Halo Quin. This very readable book not only enlightens people about faerie ways, but also about their own fey tendencies. Neither one is to be feared, but treated with reverence and respect.
Halo has a lyrical touch with words that is so fitting for entering the faerie kingdom. She warns at the onset that this is a tome only for those seriously desiring a relationship with the fey as opposed to a light read. Do you feel at home in the woods? Are you an avid gardener? Do you feel a connection to the wildlife and birds? Are you open minded enough to believe that other entities exist on this plane? If so, you may have a touch of the fey.
Halo leads us through the early times to present. She also includes a helpful chapter on inviting faerie spirit guides into our lives. When reviewing books, if I’m impressed with the content I always order a paperback of it. There’s one already in my Amazon cart.
Special note: While writing this review, a raven visited, which was a first for me.
