The Seeds You Plant Matter
Maybe you’ve heard about the bees dying off and wondered why you should care? If you like eating, fruits, vegetables, nuts or herbs, you should. All these plants are bee pollinated. Without the bees, they don’t get pollinated. There’s also no honey. The first problem with a dying bee  population is food price spikes.  You can insure the bees continuity by planting these seeds or bulbs this spring. They will reward you with beauty and a few of the plants can be used for cooking.

Spring is my favorite season, but I don't know that I have a particular way to celebrate. I do wait with baited breath for the first flowers of Spring, the Prairie Crocuses (some people call them Pasque flowers)

Hi Jody,
I'm hoping the 60 tulip bulbs I planted survived the winter.

I have two shepherd puppies, no garden or flowers for me but since I live in southern California I do have several Birds of Paradise...they're hearty and can take a beating from the dogs. I grow herbs in my kitchen, doesn't really help the bees though.

All the mysterious bee deaths worry me, so the flower list is a great public service!
